Ex Jal Tarang

1. Ex-Jal Tarang lecture, demo on the role and task of Engrs for 1220 GCs of IMA Dehradun was conducted at the Centre on 08 May 2008. The demo was appre by all dignitaries and GCs. Lt Gen PK Rampal, PVSM, AVSM, Comdt IMA Dehradun was also present during the demo.

Appointment

2. It is a matter of great pride for Bengal Sappers that Punjab Government has appointed Ex E-in-C, Lt Gen BS Dhaliwal, PVSM, AVSM, VSM as consultant for development works in the state of Punjab wef Apr 2008.

Promotion

3. Brig Now (Maj Gen) AT Parnaik assumed the rank of Maj Gen and has been appointed as CE HQ South Western Comd.

Farewell Visit

4. Maj Gen BL Khanna, ADGTE, QMG’s Branch made his farewell visit to the Centre on 23-24 Apr 2008.

6. Biannual meet of BSOA Pune Chapter was held wef 26 Apr to 28 Apr 2008. Lt Gen Gautam Dutt, VSM, COS HQ Central Comd and Col Comdt “The Bengal Sappers’ presided over the meeting. A large number of retired & serving Bengal Sapper Offrs were also present on the occasion. The event culminated with a get together lunch at Officers institute, CME Pune.

Sports.

7. Handball. Team of BEG & Centre secured overall 1^st posn in the UB Area Championship held at RRC Fatehgarh from 01 Apr to 05 Apr 08.

8. Basketball. Team of BEG & Centre secured overall 1^st posn in the UB Area Championship held at 11 GRRC Lucknow from 14 Apr to 16 Apr 08 and won the 01 Gold Medal for the Centre.

9. K & C. Our Gp K & C team secured 1^st posn in K & C Championship held at Bhimtal (Nainital) from 24 to 26 Apr 08. The team has won 10 Gold Medal, 04 Silver Medal and 03 Bronze Medal for the Centre.

10. Rowing . Hav Devender Singh of our Gp Rowing team has qualified the trials of forth coming Olympic Games at Beijing China.
